What will these crosses give me? I have a beautiful Light Sussex rooster and he has bred with some of my hens. I have collected the eggs and I’m going to hatch some chicks under my broody. The crosses are...
Light Sussex X Isa Brown
Light Sussex X Black Araucana (Australian Araucana, no muffs and has a full tail)
Light Sussex X Easter Egger (she is a light brown colour and has muffs)

Thank you so much! I think they’re really going to be beautiful! We are rehoming our rooster on Saturday due to council regulations in our area, and he is so beautiful and friendly, this is mainly why I want to hatch chicks from him...
With the possible 50% of cockerels, I will have to rehome all of them unfortunately, and sadly I can only keep 1 pullet due to space in my coop. I will have to try pick my favourite!! The pullets should sell quickly I’m guessing but I’m getting help from an animal rescue to find people who will take in my cockerels...

If I was a gambler and betting person, (which I'm not), I would put money that you will end up keeping more than 1....

Hahahahah your so right! I just did some chicken math, and I worked out the ABSOLUTE MAX I can keep is 2 pullets, which I will have in total 8 hens. 8 is the MAX my coops can take.

Your going to get mostly red chicks with some white leakage and white chicks with red leakage. Crossed with you black hen your going to get a majority of black chicks.
