What more could I have done?

So sorry!
I would never get fewer than fifteen or more chicks in the mail, and I'm careful about the weather too. I've been very happy with Cackle, and MurrayMcMurray for shipped chicks.
Combine an order with another crazy chicken person, if necessary, or grow out some for sale or the freezer, to make up a bigger order.
If there's a hatchery within driving distance, see if that would work for you too.
Sometimes getting chicks from the feed store is good, if they have what you want.

It's possible to vaccinate your 'healthy' birds in the face of a fowlpox outbreak, and help them. I do hope that's the problem, not something else.

I did purchase 3 day old chicks from Meyer farms and had them vaccinated. They arrived last week within 24 hours of birth, but when I picked them up from USPS they were without life. I just don't have the whatever to do that again. I was going to wait until spring when the weather warms up before I try that again.

I live in GA and they came from OH. I'll check to see if there is a hatchery closer. thank you.

Geez. What rotten luck you've had!
Sounds to me like you need someone to purge your negative energy or whatever it is they do, because it sounds like you did everything right! And baby chicks arriving the next day should have been totally fine. I don't blame you for not wanting to go through that again!

Yeah I drove home with them and cried the whole way. It was such a pitiful site. I have found that there are hatcheries in my state, so think I will take me a little trip and pick them up in person.

National Poultry Improvement Plan - a voluntary testing program. Do an on line search on NPIP for more information.

NPIP is not VOLUNTARY if you are planning on selling adult birds, chicks, or eggs in interstate or international commerce. International orders usually must also be accompanied by a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian.

I'm definitely not interested in selling. I'm not interested in incubating and hatching either.
