What Names do you have for your chickens?

Our funniest is our Yellow Japanese Bantam Rooster named . . . . "Princess"
Our niece was sure the little freebie bantam chick was a girl and she named it Princess. We tried to call him prince but it had been Princess for so long it just never sounded right so Princess it stayed.

The rest are
Belle, Red, Midnight, Twilight, Pumpkin I & II, Ashe, Martha, the Twins (Two EE who we can't tell apart), Snowball, Ebony & Ivory, CoCo & Dusty.

We still have to name 3 SLW, 2 GLW & 3 BR.

Our pullets:

I was born and raised in New Orleans (though I moved away as an adult due to my job).

Being a native of the great city of New Orleans, I am (naturally) a Saints Fan.

In December, a buff orpington hen went broody. She successfully hatched two babies -- one that is primarily black in color and the other primarily gold colored -- just in time for the beginning of the NFL playoffs.

Black and gold peepers born right as the Saints began their miraculous march to the Super Bowl championship just HAVE to be given appropriate Saint player names, you know.

So my gold colored peeper is named Drew (after quarterback Drew Brees) and my black peeper is named Pierre (after receiver Pierre Thomas who, IMHO, is a better player than Reggie Bush).

My Saint chicks did get to watch their namesakes win the Super Bowl, since they were still small enough that they were still living here inside the house (in a rubbermaid brooder) at the time. We put plastic on the floor and then put a wooden chair in front of the TV, then took the peepers out of their brooder so they could perch on the back of that chair and watch the game with us.

We even took lots of pictures of our Saints chicks watching Their Team WIN the Super Bowl!

Oh, heck, we even took pictures later of Drew "reading" the Monday edition of the New Orleans Times Picayune newspaper -- you know, the one where a color picture of her name sake was on the front page holding the Lombardi Trophy high in the air...

Right now we just have Gertrude, Josephine, Raven and Beyonce. My all time favorite name was Phyllis. I think I'll use it again with one of the new peeps.

Daughter's favorite EE is named Barbie; have twins Sunny and Bacon and a Frizzle name Phyllis (as in Diller).....
