What needs to be in the coop when we put the chickens in.

I have 20 almost 6 week old chickens and I want to know if anything else besides food water and the roost needs to be in when we first put them in. I plan on putting the nesting boxs in later. I plan on keeping them in the coop until they get large enough to not get picked off by the hawks then they get to free range on 2.5 acres. The coop is 12x7x8.

i would put wood chips on the bottom to make it easier to clean.

It has great ventilation with 2 4x4 windows on both sides. Here in the foothills in cali twords the end of summer the hottest is gets is no more then 105 an that's during a bad heat wave. Normally its between 90 an 100.

UHG! Too hot for me!
Hot for chickens too, hopefully it's not that hot now when the chicks need to be confined.

Knock on wood but supposedly it will be a mild june. With some of the hottest days only being 93.
