WHAT ON EARTH IS A MOMMA BABY PEN!?!

Hi, everyone is always saying that once the chicks hatch put them in a momma baby pen with the momma hem. what is it?

Just a separate area where mom and the babies can stay, away from the rest of the flock. Some chickens, like my bunch, are mean to new chicks, so I remove them to a "chick pen" for the first 3-4 weeks. After that I let them loose and mom can decide when they're ready to join the rest of the flock.
