I do know that s/he's a mutt-- I was just wondering what mix would make something like him

... What exactly is a "frizzle"???
I've seen them and thought they were pretty cool looking but I have no idea what they are. Are they just a mix of something, or an actual breed?

Well it's any regular feathered chicken carrying the "frizzle" gene (causes the feathers to curl up). Usually you want a single copy of the gene as a double copy causes the feathers to be brittle.

Lots of people cross frizzles to cochins and the result is a nice puffy windswept looking chicken. My frizzle was naked for a long long long time.. I thought the guy was never going to start feathering out. He's finally feathering in nicely now and is a pretty boy, albeit in a lot of trouble for picking out the poof on my showgirl.
