What online hatchery did you buy your ducklings from?

We used Metzer but we live an hour away and we picked up the boys in person. Great people, and a very clean hatchery. We were very impressed with how they went above and beyond to make it a fun experience for my son's big surprise.

I used Ideal when I bought a bunch of chickens and geese 2010-2012, and had zero issues with them. They were 100% with their sexing (I ordered 50+ chicks over that time). I was going to order 5 SA and 10 WH from Cackle, but was also considering Johnson and Holderread, but decided to go with KCs for now. Ideal was the best deal for getting just 5 birds and since I’ve had good experiences with them in the past, that’s where I ordered my KCs that will be here next week. I’m usually a pretty loyal customer and would probably only order from Ideal if they had all the breeds I wanted haha. Also taking into account they are much closer to me being in TX than Metzer, Holderread, Johnson, so I’m hoping that means less mail time for the birds, too.

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews from Cackle on chick quality, but as for ducklings I've heard all good, however I've never personally ordered from them. I'm hoping to order some ducks from Metzer next summer, although the small order fee is definitely ridiculously high as mentioned previously I believe.

The bad stories about Cackle do worry me. They're the only hatchery that sells sexed Anconas. Fingers crossed that they've figured out their issues by now!

I also used Metzer. Got 10 welsh harlequins. All healthy when they arrived and healthy a year later.
