What other ways are you different? Besides the chicken thing :)

Well, we own a tattoo shop up here, which used to seem pretty strange, but not so much anymore. I am a non-religious, yet very moral stay at home mom to three kids. I like to cook weird stuff, and am hoping that we have a bumper crop of grasshoppers again this summer because I promised my 8 year old we would cook 'em up and eat em!!! You know, I gave him the whole shpeel about how in most of the world protien is scarce so lots of people in other countries eat bugs. Anyway, the rest is history...

Lets see, we dont have tv, but I do listen to public radio. We would be totally off the grid if we could afford solar pannels, and if I could reconcile myself to a composting toilet:) Most of our friends think we are crazy and we have been accused of becoming "backwoods".

After a long day's work with the animals, and the kids and all of the crazy wonderful things going on here, I like to have a cold beer and a handful of pistachios. Oh, and I saw a ufo once too...

different? that's a loaded question. We have to decide what's normal before we declare what's different.

I'm extremely boring, I've been told that. I guess that makes me different. (?)

I like to think I am different from most but similar to many. I don't try and make a point of standing out, but I know I do.
I rode in my first competitive barrel race at 4 in the 5 and under class and won.
I survived a murder attempt at 14 in which I lost 3 family members.
I prefer the company of animals in most instances.
I was the first female wrecker driver in El Paso.
In one week I turned 18, graduated from high school, and went into basic for the USAF.
I've been single since my son was about 6 months old.
I like myself so I'm comfortable without having a significant other around all the time.
I have no patience for clingy, or jealous people.
I love my teenage son and respect him, he loves and respects me and will tell me he loves me in front of his friends.
I teach my students respect for life and each other.
I help my community as much as possible.
My students have my home phone, cell phone, email address and home address.
I answer when they call.
My son has never seen me drink alcohol or get drunk.
I've never smoked a cigarette or anything else.
My house is messy and I like it that way.
I drive a big, gas-guzzling, 4 door truck I bought myself and I don't apologize for it.
I love to fly fish and tie my own flies. Feathers sure come in handy there!
I am an avid geocacher along with my son.
I've raised my nephews and niece.
I love to read and listen to music and I also play woodwinds.
I collect skeletons.
I love life.

I am an american indian that went to law school and paid for it herself. Love animals, the old ways, making things myself and being self sustaining. I hate relying on a store for everything.

I have no issue with nudity and think folks make the human body a bad thing. To me, to be naked is normal and it only becomes a bad thing when some pervert makes it one.

I have a huge tattoo, a navel piercing that I got at age 43, am a 5th degree Black Belt and a retired State women's BB champion, I played in a rock band in my teens, make my own soap, shampoo and personal care items, love my kids and my grandson and try my best to be kind to everyone and treat them as I wish to be treated. I was a barrel racer and roper in my youth, I trained race horses, rose in level one dressage and tried hunter jumper. I enjoyed my life growing up.

I am a 2 time cancer survivor and battling it now for a third time ... I do not fear it and know I will beat it this time too. Afterall, this is my body to control.

I begun bodybuilding with my husband a year ago and love it. I may manage to get past 100 pounds and stay there eventually.

I do a lot of work for Native rights and education. I believe a woman has the right to make her own choices and do whatever she wants in this life.

I speak my mind, run my household and take no crapola. I dislike thieves and liars with a passion.

I love my family and life itself.

Menageriemama...you sound like a great chic!!!

Writer...your amazing!! You to cetawin! Lots of super cool people here. I am happy tp be among you all!

LOTS of things! I do homeschool, we don't have ANY television in our house (only a dvd player and movies) because there is way to much trash on, we live in a very small house, I have 5 kiddos, I LOVE to go camping in a tent, I hang my clothes out to dry to cut electric costs, believe in eternal families, etc., etc... The list could go on forever!

I forgot to add that I've been happily married for 14 years, which in today's society is saying something!

Well that is a life changing event for sure.

What makes me different - mostly being a homeschool mom I guess. I STILL like punk music, I'm a loner or at least I prefer my own company most of the time!, I am an excellent artist though I don't like the people around me to know that, and I'm overly educated.
