I don't think we're that "different" from a lot of the people who wind up on this forum. Let's see...

My husband and I were both "late starters" in the marriage realm. We were 33 when we got married, and neither of us had been married or engaged before.

I already owned a little farm cottage and barn on 10 acres when I met my husband.

We met online, then came to find out we had TONS in common and that our families were from the same tiny town and both owned the same type of business.

We're walking contradictions, guaranteed to throw off ANY survey: We're from Arkansas, belong to a Southern Baptist church, we support hunting...and we're total political liberals. Surprise!

I make really good luxury soap, homemade. It's beautiful stuff, and one of the few things of mine I don't mind bragging on a little.

We are totally owned by more poodles than you've probably seen in one place before.

We have one child, who is a complete and total miracle, and a blessing. I'd love to have 5 more just like her, but God had other plans. She starts kindergarten this fall, but has already been reading books for ages. She has her own blog. I'm doomed.

My husband is Bipolar I, and is 100% med-compliant and dedicated to his own mental health, which is pretty rare when dealing with this particular mental illness. I'm extremely proud of him.

I write for 5 different blogs--my personal one, a "consumer" blog, a household blog, a wonderful mental health website, and the Arkansas Times blog.

I take pictures and video like it's a sickness.

I guess I could add to mine that I was a bouncer and bartender for a gothic/techno/rivethead club (which was uncommon for a girl) My hair has been everycolor of the spectrum. And I worked in 'one of those' stores, which I don't feel too bad saying as VampABillyPrincess has too LoL

I'll tell ya, if I was 25 years younger, I'd be doing the same thing you are, I have the tatts and Love to see other folks be creative.

But, I have always been amused at how everyone tries so hard to be different, then why do we end up looking like each other? Wear a tie and suit jacket and you will be the oddest person in church, out of church , especially at work! Now theres a shocker!

How am I different? Lets see, for beginners, I live with my EX-husband and 4 kids in a 1400 sq ft 35 y/o manufactured home(the ultimate in recycling) on 1.2 acres in one of the most expensive places to live in AZ, and yes, I am the BANE of my snooty neighbors who all seem to be building million dollar second homes around us. We got our place from his folks who owned it for over 45 years. We sometimes get 60 MPH wind gusts out here, and in winter we can get over a foot of snow at a time.
I am a former deputy sheriff, firefighter, EMT, Texan, and current Grad. Student. I am trying to get my Masters in Special Education Cross-Categorical, inspired by my now 7 year old son who has Downs Syndrome.
I am disabled myself, due to too many years of beating the snot out of my body, and a truck accident that shook something vital loose in my noggin and left me with a seizure disorder, and limited ability to shut off nerve endings that are spasming in pain.
I grew up on a farm in East Texas, so I have close to 30 years of farm experience, and I have had chickens for quite a few of those years.
I am a writer, for fun and hopefully pretty soon, profit, I study Latin as a hobby, and I am a Irish Punk fan, especially the Dropkick Murphys and the Flogging Mollys.

My husband and I have been together for 32 years; since I was 15 and he was 16.

I home schooled my kids in the 70’s and of course everyone called me a hippie because I let them do their own thing and study what they found interesting. All 4 have college degrees and love to learn.

I grind my own flour and make all of our bread; have been doing this for a long time. I cook every night and make everything from scratch. People think I’m really strange because to this but what they don’t realize is that my food has nutritional value, that stuff you get out of a box at the grocery store doesn’t.

We grow a lot of our own vegetables, all of our own eggs, chicken and fish. We are planning to get some goats soon and in time plan to get some pigs. I plan to learn to make cheese and smoke my own sausage.

My husband and I are Christians but we do not go to church or belong to an organized religion. We believe that you live your religion every day and praise God with the way in which you live your life.

By choice I drive a 14-year-old car and DH has a motorcycle and a 15-year-old truck. We live well below our means; we had the big house, fancy cars, boats and all the other 'with it' toys. We decided that we were not happy so we got rid of it all except the house we kept it because it’s paid for.

where do i start i'm 46 been married my high school sweetheart 27 years ago. we never hang up the phone without saying love first ( and we mean it)
We have one grown daughter 26 she's married and they have a 6 year old son a 2yr old daughter and one due in Dec. and i love them to pieces.
We are just finishing our house we built ourself started 5 years ago we hired the plumber and the drywaller and that's it.
I'm a pagan and DH is agnostic. I like a wine cooler once in a while
I do not do plastic bags. I love sewing cooking and want to learn to bake more than cookies.
I have 2 tatts one on my leftbreast 3 english roses for my english heritage and one on my right ankle ,it looks like a piece of rawhide with a feather for my native american heritage.
I drive a dodge Ram and love it.
I used to play on an all women's national paintball team (iron maiden's)
Best job i ever had was managing a paintball store and indoor field
I'm totally addicted to world of warcraft beat all the halo's
Love my tv's
Don't do credit cards
and I'm a gemini which means i'm as sweet as pie one minute and a grump the next
I have real issues with people touching me
And i spent a short time at the tender age of 18 in the Army
Oh i like to knit too
I'm extremely honest and people either hate me or love me
And i'm an artist (oil on canvas)
I love my Lhasa and my chickens and want goats
And i've had the same best friend for over 23 years

What makes me different - mostly being a homeschool mom I guess. I STILL like punk music, I'm a loner or at least I prefer my own company most of the time!, I am an excellent artist though I don't like the people around me to know that, and I'm overly educated.

Yes it did change my life, my outlook and how I see people. I can relate to the violence so many of students are subjected to the gangster lifestyle's of their no good useless pieces of crap parents.
I admire so many on here!
