What Pattern?

Curious what pattern and color combination is starting to come in on this 2 week old mixed chick. (parents unknown)

Same chick at almost one week.

It looks sort of gold duckwing in pattern, most likely female based on the color of the breast feathers. At this point my best guess is silver duckwing but with Mahogany.

Thank you! I couldn’t quite pin it down. I was hoping the salmon colored breast feathers were a possible indicator of it being a pullet.

Her neck is red, not silver Definitely a pullet. I think she's red duckwing. I'm not really sure why she's got such a light down color or why her wings are so light in color.

Thanks for the comparison pic and pullet confirmation! She is a pretty large chick. We’ve had a variety of Easter Eggers, a Welbar, and Buff Orpingtons in the flock over the years, but this one is a handful to pick up and hold at 3 weeks old . Good chance there is some Welsummer in this mix, but the other half must have been big, lol.

Update at 4 weeks - is there some RIR in the mix or something?

She’s a mottled duckwing based on the white dots at the end of her feathers. I’ve never seen this pattern with blue legs before. Does she also have black skin?

That isn’t mottling, it’s part of the juvenile patterning

Interesting. I hadn’t paid much attention the skin color on this one. Sure enough, she has black skin. A lot of red came through this week. Her hackle feathers look like flames
