What percentage of YOUR hens crow?

Top hen in the pecking order, Tilly my BSL hen, crows every now and then...

I know this is super old, but I came across it and wanted to chime in. First, that grandma story....I think I would have been done with grandma, at that point. I'm traumatized hearing about it.
Second, I've had a grand total of 17 hens, in my adult life, so far, and 2 have crowed. The current one is 1.5 years old and has tried to go broody 4 times, so far. The first was a co- alpha 6 year old and it was after we lost the rooster.

None of my hens have crowed, but my old alpha hen would make a lot of noise early in the morning and sometimes during the day. restricting the amount of natural light into the coop helped quieten her. After I gave her away, the second in command started to do the same, thank goodness she was a lot quieter... I figure it plays a similar function to a rooster’s crow?
