What predator could kill 10 chickens at once

Oriole, I am so sorry about your loss and hope that you can solve your predator problem and the rest of your "babies" will be safe!!!

My husband set out live traps by our pen cause he had seen raccoon tracks in our garden. This morning he had a opossum and I had to let the neighbors cat out of the other one. I have found rat droppings in my other pen so I have trapped it and got that problem fixed but knowing that raccoons and opossums are lurking at night scares me. I just wish that predators didn't like chicken so much!!!!

I lost 8 of my flock a couple weeks ago to a pair of fox. Between the hours of 930 and 1100 am. Came home from the nightshift at 9. Fed all my animals. Went to lay down for a nap. When I got up there was feathers everywhere . One was my largest rooster. 4 laying hens and 3 young pullets.

My cousin had 10 of her chickens killed this week by a bear. It ripped the door right off, bolt and all. She caught the bear on camera.

I have caught a couple of cats in my live traps. I think they might have been feral because they acted like they wanted to kill me when I getting ready to release them but they took off.

This cat I let out yesterday was very mad cause he got caught!!! He was hissing and growling and ran away as soon as I opened the trap door. He belonged to my Sister-in-law and he is one of her barn cats. I did notice he did not show up today!! Guess getting trapped once broke him from coming around my chicken pens!!!!

I may have caught one cat twice. I caught a cat and released it. It was a gray tiger cat. A day or two later I caught another gray tiger cat. Not sure if it was the same cat but both were mad as hell.
