...could have gotten my little Goldie? She was a bantam Cochin, pretty little thing. I may not have enough information, but here goes: it happened today b/n 6:50 am (still dark) when I opened the coop door, until dark tonight. I found "her", well, what was left up in the woods 20 yards from the coop. Head missing, feathers almost all plucked and scattered about, vent and bowels all ripped out, feet/legs still intact. lots of meat still on, smelled very fresh. Some organs gone, perforated holes in areas of breast meat. I poured over her for a while, no other real clues. And I couldn't even check to see if she had worms since her bowels and crop were totally missing!

We have hawks which I suspect is the culprit...I've had a couple other birds just up and disappear during the day...did I just witness a kill spot? Also have coons, possum, fox, coyote, and neighbor dogs. Darn the neighbor dogs...and everything else that likesx chicken.

Can you figure out with the limited clues what could have done this?
