1: Buy feed, feeding extras, shavings, show stuff, lamps, baby chick supplies, etc from TSC
2: Build a breeders coop
3: Build a couple of brooders
4: Get my incubator
5: Purchase a couple of Seramas to go into the breeders coop
6: And hopefully hatch some eggs from my future Seramas.
7: Start a compost pile

Paint the coop.

Paint the living room.

Weed, weed, hack, hack -- beautify the yard.

Fix some old holes in the ceilings from roof leaks we fixed in the fall.

New mortar/concrete around the basement hatch and garden stairs.

Fill in old veggie garden (hopelessly contaminated by horrible blight last summer) and plant grass.

PUT THE HOUSE ON THE MARKET and move to a place with more room for our new baby (coming sometime this week I hope!) and more chickens, a goat or two, you know the drill....

Finish the Alpaca barn.

Build a chicken house, and it better be a big one.

Build a goat enclosure.

Build something for the peacocks I have boarding in Missouri.

Think about something for ducks, because I love them.

Huge garden, canning and freezing . . .family support this time.

Which means I better get busy on the inside of my house as far as painting and cleaning and getting rid of clutter. Flylady has become my best friend!!!

Here's my list:

1. Rebuild the outside brooder. Chicks coming Feb 11 or 12. I took it apart to store at the end of 2008.
2. Build a divided coop for the mixed bantams and pet cochin bantams. Both need new houses, so I am doing one with a partition down the middle.
3. The outer coop needs some nest boxes. I built the coop to put the nests on the side with outside access for me. I covered the hole with a piece of plywood until the 'teens' finished growing up.
4. Put netting over both bantam lots and the standard layers lot.
5. Build another divided house for the free range bantams. This house will be considerably smaller, but is needed.
6. Start building a few small coops and runs for folks that would like to keep just 2-3 laying hens or 5-6 bantams. All planned out in my head.
7. Put a roof on one of the broody houses. These are 2'x3' boxes on legs that I put broodies in. Once the babies are 2 days old the hens can freerange with their family and be safe at night.
8. Put together another broody box for a total of 4.
9. Some time during this it will be time for spring cleaning and all coops will be stripped out and cleaned. I do it one at a time.

I need to work on draining too. The drainage for my coop runoff was planned for.
I failed to plan for runoff from my neighbor's yard

'course, it DID rain more this past year since 1880-somethin' so I might not have any more problem for the next 100 years

I also need to oil my hardwood floors, and I intend to add some insulation in the crawlspace soon.

I'm going to plant some bushes and small trees, since we are pretty tree-less now.
