Anyone here know of any holland lop breeders in CT that are still in the rabbit hobby? I've tried googling but a lot of the websites I've come across are either no longer available or they haven't been updated for the last year or more. Thanks!

Hello! We picked up 2 more rabbits yesterday. I think 1 is a rex but have no clue on the other. Thoughts?

Front and side view of the rex... Yes? Thoughts on color?

Front and side on the one I am clueless. It is about 6-7 inches long. Weighs approximately 2 lbs. mini rex???

So after doing more research... I found that I was confused and thought rex and mini rex were different types of rabbits. Guess they are not. So could that mean the little guy is a dwarf?

Really would just like some opinions on what they might be since the last ones I got were not what they were supposed to be.

Anyone????

I'm not all that familiar with the Rex breed but it does look like at least the first one has the right fur texture to be a Rex. It's ears are what are throwing me off, I didn't think their ears were that big/long. The bottom it's hard to say, is the fur the same as the top one?

Edited to say: I did just google Google Rex rabbits and their ears are pretty long/tall so they could be standard rexes. Bottom one maybe a mini Rex?

This is my mini Rex. He does have a dwarf gene.

I have a few white lionhead angoras. They are older babies.. I need to get some pics of them. They are soooo cute!
I originally had 4 white ones plus one gray (blue) lionhead baby but a neighbor's stupid dog got into our yard and ripped off the wire on our hutch and killed 2 of the white ones and the gray-blue one (of course-because I really wanted that one grrrr) so now I only have the 2 white babies left. I still have my older rabbits, luckily they didn't get killed because they are in different hutches.

Both of these rabbits look like Mini Rex to me; both have the Rex coat. The first rabbit most likely didn't inherit the dwarfing gene, so it is almost guaranteed to grow over the weight limit for the breed. Its color appears to be chestnut (the "correct" version of chestnut for the Rex breeds is called castor, and it is a much deeper, redder shade). The second rabbit looks like it did get the dwarfing gene. It also appears to be a classic example of a Vienna marked rabbit (which is what usually happens when one parent is a Blue-eyed White and one isn't). The markings are uncannily like those of the Dutch breed, aren't they?
