We have some new additions to our little herd of bunnies! We had a litter of 3 born this past Monday and a litter of 9 born this past Tuesday. We have lost just one kit (it got pulled from the nest & froze ). These are all Mini Lops (pedigreed). I also have a litter of Mini Rex due tomorrow, but she's acting off today - so maybe today? Feeling so blessed that they have made it this long with our below zero wind chills.

Awwwwww. I remember. I love your fotos. How beautiful.

Congrats on your new little ones. Every once in a while I forget that there are others still in the deep freeze. We have about 75 degrees today. I'm already thinking about a plan to keep mine from getting heat stroke when our triple digits hit. Sending you warm wishes and best of luck with the new ones.

I'm new to this adventure myself. I "lurked" on this forum for a while just learning what I could. I then started researching different breeds. The most important thing, in my opinion, is to determine your reason for wanting to get rabbits. Once I determined my main reason for getting them, it narrowed down the list of breeds I researched. Then I checked out housing requirements, diet, proper care, etc to determine the initial cost. (lots of time on you tube etc) After that, I started checking different ads and breeders in my area. I learned more about what is necessary to keep the rabbits healthy in my particular part of the country. As I checked different ads and breeders, I could see the difference in how people "kept" their rabbits. Sorry this is not specific, just a little insight as to what helped me get started. I am a research geek when it comes to anything new I am wanting to learn. (my family sometimes says its an obsession

) There is still a huge learning curve in my opinion. But the more info I had up front, helped the bunnies have a better transition in my opinion. I currently have two rabbits that are "teaching me" lots. I got them 5 weeks ago. I am learning about rabbit behavior and how to avoid getting nipped and scratched (as well as why rabbits might be doing that). Wishing you best of luck in finding just the right fit for you. They are worth the investment and the time spent looking for just the right match.

Primrose and Chocolate, I weighed my bunnies today and they are each slightly over 4 lbs at 10 weeks. Based on the research I've done, it seems they are on track to be decent breeders. Do you agree? I know they have a ways to go to be fully grown out.
