I raise NZ, but I know that calis are very good too. I know a lady who swears by standard rex (which I have found to be good), and others who like mini breeds like the florida white and the mini rex. Some people really like the Giant breeds. Heavy bones but 8lbs at 10 weeks. One of the best things you can do is cross a Giant doe with a light boned meat breed like a Champagne D'Argente. Very nice rabbits. It's hard to go wrong with picking a meat breed if it's got a stocky or big body. I even know a lady that feeds her culls from her SQ Netherland Dwarf rabbitry to her dogs. Rabbits are made out of rabbit meat, after all.

The only rabbit I have eaten so far is American Blue (I think that's what the woman said). Before she harvested it for me, It was what appeared to me to be a grayish color. It was large and it was delish when I cooked it in the crock pot!!! The lady also raises Beverens, NZW and crosses. I am actually craving some rabbit meat

. I've never craved chicken.

OMGosh! My Holland Lop doe just had 2 kits in her wire cage! I had no idea she was pregnant! I didn't even know she was bred! What do I do?! Help!
