Similar to what I aim for. They are safely hutched at night but have a safe area to play on the ground where they can run and hide. I used to have does and they dug out. Not good, ended up at the neighnor's house. Now I have neutered bucks and there's no problem.
My DH has been doing daily recon in the backyard. He is looking for and filling in their holes before they can get too far into it. Our dirt here in the desert is rock hard. They still manage to dig though. Our back yard is surrounded by cement block wall with a deep foundation. So far, we've been successful at keeping them contained. We do have a weak area that the girls have not managed to find yet. As I'm typing this, I'm sure they are checking out

We should have it sured up this weekend. DH has moved any inviting hiding things from the weak area to keep it more wide open and less appealing. So far, so good

Their favorite tunnel to my neighnor's yard: I filled with quick-crete and sprayed water on it and the next day the tunnel was hardened cement. Maybe that would work on your weak spot. Quick-crete is pre-mixed, very cheap and ready to go at your hardware store.

Summer swimming plans - ahh. DH and I were out in the yard all day today, some of that time was spent cleaning our pool. Supposed to be in the mid 90's some time this week.

Question - I noticed ants in the litter pan beneath the hutch. Does anyone know how to restrict the ants and still be able to use the droppings for fertilizer?
