so does anyone know where I should go to get my rabbit spayed? I called the county spay/neuter department and they said they don't do rabbits in our county? My rabbit has always been kinda mean but she's been attacking people lately.. I can't send her to a new home because of this and I'm not too sure what to do.. I am willing to keep her but only if she's spayed

I got mine neutered at LSU Vet School Clinic Exotic Pets Department. There were 3 other vets in my city that do it, but I decided to go with the vet school bec of their reputation. It took a bit of goggling and calling. The cost ran more like $250 per rabbit, but the vet school is normally higher than regular vets. I was very satisfied with the outcome and my rabbits became more laid back within a month or two. I hope this helps.

do they look like a cute couple lol

These bunnies aren't staying in the nest.
We went out for a couple hours & came back to find 5 completely out. The first 3 dead the last 2 in bad shape, ice cold, barely moving, but still alive. Only 2 were left in the actual nest.

I picked up the whole nest, keeping it as in tact as I could, & moved into into a dog crate, putting it in the back. I let mom go in with them & gave her a water bottle, fresh hay, & feed. I have the crate sitting in my bathroom right now. I warmed the 2 babies up as much as I could, I don't know if they'll make it. The other 2 are fine as of now.

This litter was a surprise, I don't know what we're going to do. We are leaving in the morning to go out of town for 48 hours. I really thought she'd be taking care of them better/ they'd stay in their nest. Should I take them with & bottle feed? Should I leave her in the crate or 48 hours with the babies? I'm afraid to put them back outside where they were as they aren't staying put.

My rabbits are in covered runs (with fencing buried a foot down underneath) with a hutch to sleep in & big feed/water dispensers. I check on them multiple times a day, but food & water only need to be filled twice a week from size, so they're fine to go away for a day or two (wouldn't leave them longer than that), but I really don't know what I can do about these surprise babies. Everyone is going out of town or already gone, I don't have anyone that can take care of them for me.

I have absolutely no idea what she is, since I bought her at a feed store that knew nothing about her, but this is Carmen.

I've been wanting to get a Netherland Dwarf for a long time now, but there's no one nearby that breeds them. Someone sold me my last rabbit as a ND, but that's not what she really was. Loved her anyway. This was Willow. She died from an ear infection, of all things. I did everything the vet told me to do, but it didn't help, obviously. Won't be going to that vet again. I had her for 5 years.

AoFoster, and for that matter, Rose... It is not meant to be rude but this is not a thread meant for buying or selling rabbits and posting about it can get folks in trouble. :/ I think many of us are breeders and frequently have litters available and if we all posted about wanting to buy or sell rabbits the thread would get overwhelmed. So people are just trying to warn you so thread stays clean and nobody gets in trouble, nobody is trying to be rude.

Most Easter rabbits do not go to permanent homes so that is a legitimate concern. Many breeders will at least quiz you about if the person the rabbit is going to is prepared for the 7+ year commitment to their health and care. Impulse and holiday pets tend to turn into shelter animals or worse.
In any case... You would both be best looking at local options such as websites like rabbitbreeders.us or your local craigslist (typically under farm and garden) for both buying and selling. I know ebay and hoobly both have localized classifieds... Or you could speak to local pet stores or look in your local newspaper. There are lots of options for buying and selling rabbits out there if you care to look. This just isn't one of them, you know?
