Speaking of summer heat....my hutch is next to the chicken coop and its back against the side of the shed and facing outward...about 5 feet away is a magnolia tree....Needless to say, shes pretty goos there, But I tried putting in frozen bottles of water in there but my doe does not like it, she flings it away from her lol....does that mean shes not hot?.......are there any other options.....I bought a misting system from homedepot FOr the Chickens I probally can extend it over to the hutch also?....just wondering if there were any other options....

Thank you
Aldo

We plan on buying heated waterers for winter use. It'll be an expensive purchase, but SO convenient! A friend of mine had a similar set up here in Maine, and left them ALL outside all the time and never had troubles (aside from frozen bottles). I'm thinking I could find some super heavy canvas to wrap around them, or maybe make temporary sides that can be removed come spring. We'll see.
We use crock pots set on low for winter waterers. You can get them fairly cheap at Goodwill or yard sales.

I think she's just playing with the bottle. I have one rabbit that will pick up the comb and throw it off the table every time I set it down when grooming him. It's kind of annoying, but it's so cute I can't be mad at him. He also throws around any loose object in his cage. A lot of my other rabbits do the same. It's just the way they play. Pushing, nudging and tossing.

Think we might have babies shortly !! I noticed some bleeding earlier today and now her labored breathing. she has yet to build a nest or pull fur, she keeps hoping around so think she might start to, I am leaving her alone, just peeking through the house window haha here is the video of her breathing

my doe likes to throw her dishes around. i have had to find attaching dishes so she actually has food and water for more than a few moments.

Congratulations! They're adorable, well done

Salt and pepper, I agree with whoever it was who suggested that your bunny might be part Britannia Petite - she seems to have a fairly "racy" body type like the BP's do.

THIS IS MY FIRST LITTER OF BUNNIES AND THEY ARE MINI REX'S THAT ARE 2 WEEKS OLD TODAY!!!!!!!
Congrats on your litter! They are cute, but they aren't Mini Rex - the hair is already too long for that breed.
