Well, all my holland babies are going to be 3 wks this Tuesday. They no longer stay in the nest box so I removed that from the cage. They are starting to drink from the water bottle and I caught a few eating out of Mama's food bowl today. I moved the cages from the back of the yard today down to front, in this shaded corner we have. I feel like they've been sitting up there baking in the sun and today was the hottest it's been in a while. So I got them moved and they are definitely cooler in that spot than they were up in the back of the yard. Already have two people interested in three of them. We'll be keeping the frosty if it's a doe and that'll leave one more to be rehomed. I'm hoping the breeder I got the parents from knows of someone so I don't have to place an ad on CL.

Question to yall...... I used to be an avid hay bedding person, but now That Ive had chickens I lovvvve using those wood shavings (deep litter method) it keeps the smell down better than hay and cleaner, and I think better for the animals.....My question is I switched over my rabbits hutch to the same material..is that ok? and giove her hay on the side daily.. also when shes ready to kindle? It just looks sooo much cleaner this way.

Thanks
Aldo

I also sprinkled food grade de on the bottom of the chips on the wood.....is that ok for the kits?

My hutch wouldn't hold shavings because it has a wire bottom, but if they were in a solid bottom cage then I would definitely use the shavings over anything else. And yes give the hay as more of a treat on the side.

NO soda and feed em some fast food, they'll sleep like logs lol........ If your looking for some red cross chickens my Amish friend and his fam, are getting rid of 500 POL pullets Saturday In Ellington CT! They are a great quality I got 30 in April and they Lay like crazy!

We have eight little Champagne d' Argent rabbits. This rabbit is born coal black and turns silver in a few months. Everyone is healthy and just planning on moving on to their new home.
