So cool, I gotta start reading up on rabbits, see what breeds are here, which produces best results. Then I hope I can be getting some little fluffies by next year. Congrats on the kits.

What are you looking for in rabbits? Meat?, Pets? Breeding/Showing?

Well considering the constraints here meat would be best. Animals as pets just isnt a priority here at this time. You raise and eat or sell. Ive never had rabbit so it would be something new for me but they are sold quite readily here. I look that I paid 7 dinars for a 9 wk old bunny when for the same money I could buy 2 kilos of chicken breast. Most families here eat very little meat per meal so a single rabbit would be a few meals. Low costs on food and minimal housing needed, turn around on investment seems equal to chickens. Right now im just looking into costs and application to local needs. Try to use ideas for people to be self sufficient. Language is my only issue it seems as vet supplies are good for keeping animals healthy. 3 dollars for first injections but prices fluctuate with reduction of demand so I need to stock supplies or work with local vets.

Well, I breed Holland Lops, which are for pets and showing purposes. Most people think that the Huge breeds like Flemish Giants are the way to go, but after you think about how much you feed and how much space they take up, it isn't worth the meat you get, which by the way is really fatty. Also, Flemish Giants feed t meat ratio is not very good.

Most people actually go with more medium sized rabbits Like tans, champagne's and what not. The rabbits that range in size from 7-9 lbs is what I've heard have the best food to meat ratio.

Since I cant go by names here looking at pics of rabbits will help I can store them for references on my tablet. Then when I go shopping I have info at hand. Today just knowing how to properly hold a animal, checking eyes, vents and such showed the men I was a serious customer. Bit by bit I can learn to haggle and get certain desired breeds brought to me. Im going to call it a night even though a wedding party just started next door and will go on til dawn, its been a long day. Take care all and keep the information coming, every bit helps.
