Someone made a comment on another site the other day and it got me wondering...For those who sell/rehome your baby bunnies when they are ready to go, do you list them (whether it be CL, FB, Etc) BEFORE or AFTER they are 8 weeks old? Most of us know a rabbit shouldn't be rehomed until it is 8wks old, I am JUST asking when do you begin listing them.

Reason for asking: The other day someone made a comment on another site stating "A true rabbit breeder doesn't list their bunnies until they are 8 weeks old"

I don't want this to turn into a debate, just looking for thoughts and opinions on this statement. In my opinion I would think that once you figured out who is what out of the litter and whether or not you are keeping any, that you would want to list them and state they will be ready on such and such date when they are 8 wks old.

I don't post them till 8 weeks or older

:gig I have this Red doe...she regularly pops her latchES- I added a 2nd one :lau) and galvents around the rabbitry at night! And one is a spring hook latch and the other a clip latch. I'll find the door swung open and her lounging on hay pile with her looking all innocent lol
That reminds me of watching one of our rabbits climb the wire on the bottom of our chicken tractor in order to get into the top door that was open.  The wire is about 2.5 feet from the ground to where the bottom of the wooden top portion starts.  She climbed up and in then went down the ramp into the tractor. She likes to run around inside the chicken tractor and eat the chicken feed.  I'm told it's not too healthy for the rabbits due to the higher calcium levels.  We tried to keep the rabbits out but they are having none of it.  They are smarter than we give them credit for.  Enjoy your bunny's antics. They do keep us on our feet.

Did you also read where our rabbits figured out how to open the latch on their door and let themselves out one night.  Man, my ego is so bruised right now to think these bunnies have outwitted me already.

Always look up laws in regards to the state and animal your selling. Rabbits are fairly unregulated but on occassion there is an odd "pet law".

IMHO Depends I think on the breed of rabbit and what your plans for the rabbits are. Show rabbits often are 2 months or more I see for sale. Possible coat colors/traits/sex needed to be seen or can be clearly seen at that point.
Meat rabbits I've seen go younger. I wean at 5 weeks or so (if all kits are eating and drinking and not really having milk.) I monitor them, double check sex and will sell at 6 weeks. Socializing the big breeds starts young here to make them easy to handle when breeding time rolls around.

Yea but this is an entirely different subject. I'm not even talking about what age you decide to sell your baby bunnies. This is just regarding when you first let it be known that you have baby bunnies that will eventually be for sale. Do you start letting people know before they are ready to go or not until they are ready to go...

Ahhhh well Don't count your chickens before they've hatched! It's a good rule!

I have people asking when a certain pairs next litter will be expected and they're waiting for future kits, twinkle in a bucks eye.
BUT, these are fellow uuhhh I guess untrue breeders :lau that are wanting specific lines or traits from New stock to add to their own and we breed as needed so we aren't over run (yet - these guys get better every time :gig ). I keep a website and a FB page and announce often when a doe kindled with info and pics as they age and buyers are welcome to collect them when mama weans them and they've been eating a week on their own.

I don't advertise until they're ready to go but I take reservations on kits as they come in if that makes sense. Craigslist sales are reserved for fully weaned only.

So my buck climed up the fence and then jumped off. Luckily his back is okay but he comepletely broke off one of his front nails. I fineally got the bleeding to stop and now he's cleaning it. Will his nail grow back? He doesn't seem like he's in much pain.. But I just got him about a month ago as a show rabbit. He can't show without his claw..

The claw will grow back, though the shape might be a bit odd. Judges are usually OK with a claw that is a bit short, if it is long enough for them to see that it matches the other claws.
