So you guys don't use the term cashmere on your long haired?

No, not that I know of. We have Angoras, but a rabbit like yours would be called a "Fuzzy Lop" or "American Fuzzy Lop" here. The Angoras come in a couple of different varieties but Cashmere? I don't believe we have a rabbit called just that.

Sounds like your fuzzy is the same. It's not as long as angora. Must admit though cashmere sounds fancier than fuzzy lol

The little wire fence can be hooked together into a circle or unhooked to a straight line or whatever shape. I use it a lot. I can fence off an area I want to keep the chickens or rabbits out of, make a circle in the green grass that can be moved around, or open it to help me corral the bunnies if they don't want to be caught. Sometimes I bring it into the house to contain a critter to a certain area. It stands up by itself and moved easily. Right now, in this foto, it is at the base of the bunny hutch to give them an outdoor play area. They like it so much I may have to buy another fence really soon. Or, give the bunnies full run of the yard.

I nearly had one of those. It was quite cheap on eBay so I placed a big and then suddenly the listing vanished. Obviously the seller worked out it was quite cheap too lol

Finally got the stinker back into his hutch. I wanted to build trust with him. Over the past few days, I've become the bunny whisperer with him (thanks to you all and you tube) First day was painful. Made the mistake of wearing flip flops while earning his trust and he chose to test and nibble on my toes. He broke my skin and drew blood. Second day, I wore shoes and used apples. when the apples were gone, he confused my finger for an apple - nip but no blood. Today Day 3, SUCCESS - he came to me, climbed on my lap, ate from my hand AND went into his hutch on his own. All I had to do was close the door behind him. Jeesh - I suspect someone out there is rolling their eyeballs at my method. He's my first buck and I'd like him to be hand tame. He was kept outside in a backyard colony before I got him. I think for one month with us, he has come a long way. His reward - Breeding tomorrow - wish me luck.

I'm thinking of doing colony life for my breeding/show mini Rex's, it's cheap, holds mor in less space and less cleaning.

There are some good threads. One is "Chickens Shouldn't be in Cages". Lots of help and ideas. I love letting mine run up and down their ladder into a dirt play yard. But they are still locked on their hutch at night. But they love that little bit of freedom. They are waiting at the door in the morning for me to open it. They run up and down and kick up their bunny heels. They still voluntarily spend time lying around their hutch.
