White with red eyes and any color on the points is a Himilayan. But I agree, the one with the colored body looks like a Smoke Pearl - one of my all-time favorite rabbit colors.I couldn't tell you. The Buck is a Siamese Sable and the doe is white with blue ears and tale. She's the one with red eyes.
Ok, my herd buck produces Split Penis' and some of his offspring have revived that gene.
Should I sell him as just pet or cull him? I'm really attached to this buck, but I know I can't keep breeding from him
I knew someone who sold some Californian/New Zealands to a snake owner with the idea that the rabbits would be used as breeders. Some time later, they learned that their rabbits had been fed to the snakes. They were livid! They said they wouldn't have minded if the rabbits had been eaten by the people (that's what they were raising rabbits for to begin with), but they drew the line at snakes. My feeling is, a dead rabbit is a dead rabbit; as long as it is a humane death, does it really matter what happens to it after it is dead?I talked to a breeder who sold her culls to a dog food factory... sounds cruel but I guess thats better than having tons of useless bunnies sitting around :/
