So many adorable rabbits here! This is my mutt bunny, Piper!

I got her back in March from a feed store where her previous owners had just left her. She's a spunky little sweetheart. I am going to get her spayed in the next couple weeks and I've been thinking about getting her a friend (or maybe two... hard to resist...) in the late summer or in December. I'm loving having a rabbit around again and having another would be icing on the cake.

I've mainly been considering rescue, but angoras have really caught my fancy and I may find myself going out of my way to get one of them instead in the likely case that there are none in the rescues near me. They're absolutely adorable, and I love to knit and crochet so the fiber would go to good use. People who have or have had angoras, what are your thoughts on them? Worth the extra time? Not too difficult to manage?

Some cute little almost 2 week olds . These guys escaped the nestbox some time last night lucky for them my daughter decided to check on the babies before she left for school & found them very cold but thankfully still moving . They've spent a couple hours in the bottom of the incubator warming up & their ready to go back to mom & their siblings :)

I love the color of Piper! You need to be careful when adding another bunny. They may fight. Let them live where they can see each other for a couple weeks, then put them together when supervised.
These are my last 3 that I bought together - Penny, Parker, and Chip. I get all my bunnies spayed and neutered.

Thanks! Yeah, I've been doing a lot of reading up on bonding and introductions. That's exactly what I plan on doing.

I'm also not going to let Piper even see the room I plan to keep all the bunnies in until I have both or all of them and am ready to start introducing them to each other so I can avoid the worst of whatever territorial behavior there may be. That gives me extra time to make sure my bunny-proofing will be thorough enough as well.

Your rabbits are adorable! I especially like that soft shade of brown on your dutch. Too cute! Do your three get along well? I've read that trios are often a bit trickier than pairs.

These 3 are only about 10 weeks old now. I have another set of 3. I had 2 males, then added a female. She lived in an adjacent pen for a month. They get along great, but 2 seem to "pair up". You probably are right about the odd number issue. I think the 2 males are brothers, the female is unrelated. For the 10 week old ones, I think they could be all brothers and sister. They will be spayed and neutered so it really doesn´t matter. We are fixing the new bunny yard outside for the babies. I bought a child´s playhouse for their house and will put screen and expanded metal over the window holes for security. It is warm here so weather is not a problem. I have no idea about rabbit breeds - I just bought them according to color!

Yeah, the possibility of the third bunny left out is what makes me a little unsure about having a trio. That's such a fun idea for a house! And the brown and white may not be a dutch, but it does have dutch markings which is why I called it one.

Spaying/neutering a rabbit is really risky, I'd never do it
Rabbits certainly are more delicate when it comes to surgeries than other animals, but it actually isn't particularly risky nowadays if you have a vet experienced with rabbits. And if you aren't looking to breed them and can afford the procedure, there are so many benefits to having them spayed or neutered that is seems like a no-brainer to me.

I had 3 rabbits prior to these 6. They were spayed and neutered, the second set of 3 have all been spayed and neutered, and these 3 babies will be done when old enough. There were no problems with the 2 spays and 4 neuters. Cost here is very inexpensive and not a consideration in the decisión. All the rabbits were quick to recover and have had no problems related to their surgeries.
