What rare breed am I?

Here's what it looked like at a week old. That might help narrow it down.

I'm now thinking it's most likely a Saipan pullet. Pics from Feathersite:

Your pullet is still young, it will grow up to look more or less like her.

p.s. there are pictures of an older saipan chick on that page.. however it's a cockerel. And what looks like lacing on the chick isn't actual lacing, it's a common feature on wheaten chicks.

Do you think it would be a Saipan? Those are not in Ideal's 'Rare Breed Asst.'

Hey can you email Teri at Ideal and send her the pix and see if she knows?

It's my guess due to the color and comb appearence. Is there a list somewhere for that assortment? Couldn't find one. If I had to choose from birds shown in that picture, I would choose Kraienkoppe(not that likely but possible) or Thai(upper right) if they have wheaten in their breeder flock. Their Saipan page shows the hen as being clearly wheaten and mentions they're "very rare" so I figured that was a possibility they toss those in too.

Wow - that is one uncuddley looking hen! At the feed store they had four or five rare breeds they had ordered and then said Ideal threw in some other random rare birds. So, I'll be watching and it just may be that Saipan kind. So far it seems the best match. But part of me hopes it's not!

Yes, I posted the link to the rare breed asst. chicks, and the listed breeds are those that are in the asst. How Delawares are in that asst. I don't know!
