What "rare/exotic" breed is it?

My Dominique roo Leonard is sweet as can be! Never has shown one sign of aggression, he is the roo that makes sure eveyone knows it's bedtime, he starts crowing and the hens start going into the coop. He also sounds off the alarm when he hears/sees something out of the ordinary. It's funny, I have 6 dogs, the chickens know them & peck at them through the fence, a toy poodle came into my yard, you should have heard the roos!

It's a Golden Laced Wyandotte Cockeral. I've raised many.

I wouldn't worry about rehoming any of them. Generally the rule of thumb is 6-8 hens per roo. You're at 5.25 hens per roo (21 hens-4 roos, right?). That is assuming that ALL are allowed to mate too. Some roos don't let other roos have any girls. We have 28 hens and with 9 roosters in the run right now. We are keeping 3 roos, but haven't gotten rid of the other roos yet. No fighting, no excessive mating (though a coupe hens are becoming "favorites", so they're is starting to show feather damage on their backs. We have have a couple dominant roos, so while the roos don't fight, a few are not allowed to mate per the "roo rules".

Hope this helps!
