What responses have people gave you when seeing their first turken?

It's all in the genes. Plus they are super friendly, and do not mind being confined. I am in an Urban Area and they make a great pet. My sisters silkies started laying eggs only after about 5 months and have not stopped. Wish me luck, I have few hatching this coming week

I am the proud new owner of a Showgirl (turken/silkie cross). And whenever anyone tells me how "ugly" she is, I reply that her name is their name....it's not, but it stops them in their tracks and we have a good laugh.

I've always been different I guess.

I still have people ask whats wrong with my couple of Turkins. I always have to laugh before I explain about them.

I have gotten comments on my male muscovy duck before. The people thought it had been picked at or was wondering if it was some weird type of goose. I will say I find a turken more cute than a muscovy duck. They are cute as ducklings but keep getting that red on their head. I even like turkeys.

Here is a picture from last summer of my male named Lobo (after the DC comics character).
