I'm not sure. I've wondered if it was something my little brother had and lost, but he's not sure either.

Do you have a small box trap that's designed for mice, & rats? Baiting with live crickets, or mealworms(In a petri dish) may lure it in.

If you have a tractor supply, you could try picking up a small animal trap. I have no idea what it is. A lizard of some sort. I would be creeped out, but I am admittedly weak.

I'm in Maine, so it'd have to be someone's runaway pet if that's the case.

Skinks live throughout north America. We have blue tail, & 5 lined ones here.

No. All I have is a rat trap that kills them. It's been set for a few days by a new hole I found in my Mom's kitchen, but I haven't caught anything.

Perhaps through a small crack? Or maybe you left the door open for a bit and sneaked in that way?

They can climb, get brought in inside hollow firewood, wander in through open door ect.
