I'm going to leave this post open for now, as long as the discussion remains on what breed it is. By BYC rules cockfighting discussion is not allowed here.

BTW Game cocks are totally legal to own in the USA. Many people breed and show them. Just like any other chicken.

yeah i know. i never wanted to make it into a cockfighting discussion. and yes i know there are no illegal chickens, that would be silly.

i just wanted to let that guy know that there aren't any illegal fighting breeds, and i still want to know what he is! i wouldn't mind having one. game roos make great flock guardians. i've seen videos of them taking on foxes and winning!

Sorry to be off topic for a second, but what the heck is that thing in the background? At first I thought it was a hyenna(?) but once I flipped the picture right side up, its much smaller and has a long tail. What the..

lol! that cat-looking thing in the background is actually a Genet. they're an African relative to raccoons. anyhow, he's hanging from the ceiling and they flipped the pic so that he looks right-side up. you're right though, after looking again he might be frizzled. i really wonder. he sure is pretty.

at first I thought frizzled, until I noticed he was upsidedown.....the feather lay may be like that just because he is dead and upside down. It's hard(for me anyway) to tell what one is when not in natural posture/stance.....good luck figuring it out

Just becuase that roo has big spurs doesn't mean it's a fighting cock..and no they aren't illegal to own in the US. I won't repeat myself as to what kstaven has said furthermore..I will say that American OR Spanish Games DO NOT make great flock guardians NOR can they take on a fox. That bird pictured is probably nothing but a mixed breed of something..not an orloff and certainly not an American or a Spanish breed.
