That's an EE. I'm not great with EE's, but I'm pretty sure at 12 weeks that is probably a cockerel. EE's don't typically lay until around 7 months (28 weeks). Some may lay a few weeks earlier or later but they aren't known for being an early layer.

Not true. Many Easter Eggers start laying at 22 weeks of age.

I don’t see any pointed saddle feathers and the coloring isn’t patchy like most Easter Egger cockerels. I think you may have to wait it out for a month or two to be sure.
