What sex are my chicks going to be?

I just hatched chicks with my preschool and I would like to keep some however I don't really want a male. One batch of eggs I got was from a lady that had a black sex linked hen and a silver laced wyandotte rooster. Is there any way for me to tell what sex the chicks will be. They are a day old.

Unless you are a professional vent-sexer working for a large commercial hatchery you will not be able to tell a chick's sex until they are feathered out. Sorry!

I don't believe so. Had the Wyandotte been the hen, possibly (not certain with the sex-link being the other part of the equation). Unless I'm mistaken, I have no reason to believe your current cocktail would create sex-linked offspring...
