what sex are these dark cornish

I think they are roosters, but want to be sure.
And what exactly are you looking at? The face as well as the changing feathers from juvenile laced to unmarked adult on the wing?
They are 12 weeks old. Thanks in advance.

They are all roosters. The males have no lacing, are elongated, have more red showing around the eyes and wattles. The hens usually have dark heads but more brown on the body showing lacing or brown in the feathers of some degree.

So what are you saying Katy? You do see saddle feathers...you mean the laced ones, I take it. Well, wouldn't all juveniles have the lacing until the roosters start molting out and maturing? The two do have some lacing feathers, but I guessed this was because they are not done molting out into adult and possibly rooster type feathers. I may be wrong. I don't claim to know, that is why I posted.

The one on top a rooster, the other a hen see the difference? some roos have a little lacing but the hens have a lot.

Thank you for posting. I am talking about juvenile's. I know it is much easier to tell on mature ones.

At 12 weeks they shoud have pointed tail feathers if they are roosters and the neck hackles will be pointed also. The best time to observe the neck hackles is when they are about 1/3 grown out of the quill.
