I just got some chicks but im wandering if their a good description of a standard. Could some show me some of theirs for a good example. Im also thinking my chicks are mores with different varieties of Americanas. So i was wandering how to fix them.

welcome to BYC!

where did you get your chicks?
unfortunately most big hatcheries sell easter eggers as Americanas, not the true Ameraucana breed

Well i went to a guy that i know personally that gave me hatching eggs and they all hatched. What im confused about is why they look like several different varities of chicks. All the eggs i hatched where a light blue.

Compare your chicks and/or adult birds with the photos of Standard bantam and Standard large fowl Ameraucanas on our Photos page.

If you birds don't look like the ones in the photos, chances are they are not Ameraucana chickens. The "Standards" only describe adult fowl, but with experience you can judge most day-old chicks and determine which won't come close.

Unless you have a lot of breeding experience or just want to play around with genetics you would be farther ahead to pay a little more for the real thing than dedicate years to recreating it.

Check the Ameraucana Directory for sources of hatching eggs, chicks and adult stock.

They standars only come in certain colors Black , Blue , Wheaten ,Sliver , White Blue Wheaten, Splash . So if you were not told what colors you bought most likly they are mixed breeding and consudered EE.
You are close, but I think you meant silver instead of splash.

AMERAUCANA VARIETIES (Large Fowl & Bantam)
Black, Blue, Blue Wheaten, Brown Red, Buff, Silver, Wheaten & White

Lavender is more popular than some of the APA/ABA recognized varieties, but it isn't recognized yet which just means it can't place higher than Best of Variety (BV) in an APA/ABA sanctioned poultry show.
