I am relatively new to owning chickens and as of yet have not had any illnesses. I dont know much about poultry products so I was wondering if you all could help me out. What basic items should I keep on hand in case their needed? I've heard of things like DE but dont know exactly what all their used for. Any help would be appreciated. THAnks.

The article found at the bottom ofthis page seems to have some very good info. *EDIT* Sorry, Imp! I didn't see your post when I added mine *EDIT*

It's always good to have the basics right at hand just in case. Scissors, sterile saline, bandages, eyedroppers, and such. Keeping polyvisol (without iron), and some type of electrolytes around would be great for chickens that are in shock or under a great deal of stress. Keeping some kind of a carrier or dog crate handy is always good for isolation.

Hope this helps!
