are they a breeding pair? if so then the 21-22% is best for them. If the female is not laying then 18% is fine. Do not forget to give them oyster shell if the female if laying she will need the extra calcium. Do try to stay with Game Bird Feed though not regular chicken feed and most importantly not medicated it can make the male infertile.
They also love dandelion leaves, egg food(hard boiled egg ground up shell and all), apple, even banana, broccoli and other greens. NO avocado! I give treats to mine once a day at about the same time each day. Meal worms can be added but not too many as the birds get fat from them and buy them from a bait shop as the pet stores add vitamins to their worms that the buttons do not need.
