haha, yep argus , blyth and cabot were the first ones that came to my mind when I saw that post too, amherst gold and silver are the most common and cheapest of all ornamental species.
I did see some greater agrus for sell the other day for $1500 a pair if you want some cheap ones Tony, can try to look up the info again for you IF YOU WANT, LOL
Bet it was a type O though, never seen them below $4000 til then and only know of 2-3 people breeding them in the states. I definately want some though. Like I have told you before, I'm a tail guy! Even though a large protion of their "tail" is really primary wing feathers, still one heck of a cool looking pheasant.
Aubrey, ther's a guy in In that has 5 unsexed 2010 hatch Malay great argus for 2000.00 ea,2009 males and females 2500.00 ea.They only problems is they might be related.Do you want his number?
If you want to talk about an expensive pheasant, the Bulwers wattled pheasant has to be top of the list,I think there may be 1 or 2 in a zoo someplace in the U.S.I've never heard of any for sale,so the price tag must be up there.I took a pic of one from Keith Howmans Pheasants of the world book.I hope it comes out.

yep, I've never seen any listed any where either, bet the do cost a mint if you ever do find any.
I might take you up on that number. May have to wait til next year to get some, by I am going to do it some time soon, within the next couple years. Trying to get back all my common stuff this year first, once all those are out of the way, I do really want to get some of the argus though.
If you dont mind, PM me his info so I can put it in my records for when the time comes.
I appreciate that!

Bronzetailed Peacock Pheasant 3 collections
Malayan Peacock Pheasant less than 5
Mountain Peacock Pheasant less than 6
Malayan Crestless Fireback less than 6
Great Argus 10 or so
Cabot Tragopans more than 10
triple S (Mr Summner) has most all of them you listed including the blyth's tragopan, all the peacock pheasants (except bornean obviously)and several other very are birds. I dont know about saying only 6 collections have rothchild's mountain peacocks though. I know about that many folks with them myself, there's 3 within the tri state area here in GA alone
Who has the 2 collections of salvadori?I know of 10 birds in the U.S and they are all owned by one guy.I had a pair of them 4 or 5 years ago and tried to buy a hen for the male I had and this guy wouldn't budge.
The rest of survey numbers don't seem right to me either.
