Yep, I have a bantam hen that is Silkie crossed with somthing and she is a good broody hen.

No, The Red that was put in for that calulator is more like a red columbian and red silkies dont have have the columbian markings. They may have some v shaped penciled lacing scattered here and there, but wont have near the laceing that those pictures how.

I had forgotten that red silkies are more of a Buff color than actuall red so your pullets would probably be lighter and buff colored instead of red.

This is a Sexlink pullet from a cross of a Buff Orp roo on a Silver laced Wyandotte hen. This is basically the color you would get in yours. She is mostly buff but has some weak black ticking in the hackles and tail.

thanks, on the side white silkies are actually buff silkies with two copies of recessive white so if you use them in a cross with, for example, a hen with the silver gene, you would get silver/buff males and buff females.
