I want to get 2 ducks in the spring, and then put them in an enclosure on my porch, but I only have so much space, and I was wondering what i could do for them with an enclosure that was raised above the porch ground with pegs so my dog doesn't scare them and a raised cage is the only way.

The ducklings will need to be in an area free from the elements, they will also need heat for the first few weeks until they get their adult feathers in. Are you wanting to build their coop or their brooder? Do you have space for them once they are bigger besides your porch?

technicaly yes, and I will allow them outside their enclosure everyday. Another option is to make a shed in the backyard and have them their, but that option is very expensive. And this thread is about their coop., also i will make sure that they have an area away from the elements. When I get them they will have a brooder in the basement, but when they grow up, how big should the enclosure be on the porch.
