What should I do about flies?

I've already tried a fly trap (attracted predators) barn lime (not working) louse spray on the walls (I just had it on hand and thought I'd try). What else should I do? I've read about hanging up herbs but not sure which herbs. There are still too many flies it the coop. I clean in once a week-ish and there is ventilation

You may need to clean more if you have a lot of flies.

Traps work, but they must be placed away from the coop/run.

The fly traps are set in the woods beyond the coop, but it attracted a bear who decided to pillage the chicken food while it was there . I clean the coop weekly, but I was planning on starting the deep litter method this summer. Will that help?

We use PT-Alpine. It is expensive but we spray one dot on each wall, and the flies are dead. It lasts about a month. The dead flies are safe for chickens to eat.

We get them horribly since the horses moved in across the road. My sister who raises turkeys commercially got me onto it. I've used nothing else in five years and still have over half a can left.

We use horse bedding pellets in the coop so there's never any wet poop and we don't even know why they come.

Is this stuff safe for other animals too? Does it just kill the bugs in the coop and does not harm the ecosystem? I have always been against pesticides but this does not sound like a pesticide. Thank you for your suggestion!!

Just tossing in another idea.... Looks like you have the room to Re-arrange roosting and install poop trays for daily cleaning. You can avoid poo on walls and poo altogether with a quick morning clean up. Winds being cheaper to maintain in the long run too.

The dot placement is above the chickens. I put it at my arm level.

If you use it in a barn and have animals like cows that could rub against the wall, then put it higher than the cow just so it doesn't waste it.
