What should I do for lonely chick in a brooder?

I did put it back with the Turken chicks. They took over the towel that I rolled up for the Araucanda and it is laying by itself. Maybe I need to put a 2nd towel in there for the lonely chick. The Turkens seem to think it was a good idea.

When I had a chick that had wry neck I put a clump of pheasant feathers in with her/him. She/he didn't make a peep and pulled through. Could you put a feather duster in there with him?

Ok, you problably don't need or want anyone to say this, but I have to.

If any of you see chicks in bad situations, don't pay the people for the chicks, don't do business with them. It's JUST ENCOURAGING BAD BEHAVIOR! If it was kittens or puppies in a sealed plastic box, someone would of called animal control and they would be charged with abuse or neglect. Farm animals have no right to be abused in this way.

Now, I am not some fanatic vegetarian, but it seems to me, that this person went home thinking of the money they made, and that they did nothing wrong, while you are shelling out money for dying babies. They will go back again next week with more chicks in a sealed box, and some sucker will pay them again! Stop the cycle!

OK sorry, had to get that off my chest. If you see them neglecting or abusing, tell them this is not helpful to the animals (in your nicest voice) and let them know you won't be buying animals from them until they change. It worked at my feed store.

At least I'm only out $1 per chick. But I agree with you. My husband already fussed at me, but I have always been one to bring home strays and sick animals.

Our schnauzer/yorkie was moved from home to home and nobody wanted him. He has been with me 2 years and is a great pet. He just needed lots of love and needed to be neutered, which I did the first week I had him.

The good news is that I just got back inside from checking on them and the chick is now laying right next to the others on my little towel. She seems happy, so I hope all is well now.

My husband added some vitamin/electrolyte stuff to their water, so maybe that will help. I think being in that hot plastic box Saturday is what made them sick. The Turkens are thriving, but they would probably be naturally cooler with their naked necks.
