So this egg had a tiny hole in it for about 24 hours. Another one that was in there looked the same as this guy and he just died. We started to help this one out of the shell. We started seeing a little blood so we stopped. We put some coconut oil on the membrane to keep it moist. It’s been 9 hours and he is still breathing. Should I help him all the way out

Can you see its beak? If it's moving like it's eating leave it alone, this is a sign it's hasn't finished absorbing the yolk yet. Keep that membrane moist or it will dry up and then the chick won't be able to get out. Sometimes it takes a long time for them to be ready. Keep an eye on it.

You may want to open the shell just a bit more so when it is ready it can push out. But don't try to assist it to come out just moisten the membrane and let it do the rest.

We just pulled away a little more of the shell. So the hole was bigger. Then we got some more coconut oil and moistened the membrane because it looked like it was sticking to him

Yes in the pic it does look like it might be shrink wrapped.. do you still see blood in the membrane what do the veins look like. You may need to gently slide your finger across it to push it back some more. If the chick is ready it may push or try to move a little. But be careful let it remove its self. Take it slow... if its shrieked wrapped it will need help.

Yes I still se

yes I still see veins in the membrane but they are not as big and red as last night we tried to pull some of the membrane back after chipping away some more of the shell but it started slightly bleeding so we dabbed it with a q-tip and put him back in the incubator
