What should I do when my hens are broody?

A lot of my hens are really broody. Half of them aren't even laying on anything too. Their crops are empty and they don't get up to move ever. I am worried about them. They aren't eating or drinking anything. I have had hens be broody and then stop. But this time it is really bad. Is there anything I could to make it better. I love to hear your thoughts about broody hens.

Stick them in a dog crate with just food, water and a roost. No bedding.
