Little guy just hatched with yolk sac still attached. And wet, dark runny stuff all over. (The one that hatched last night didn't have any extra liquid and was full of energy.) I was afraid the little wild one would run all over the yolk sac and tear it, so I snatched it out of the 'bator and whisked him into the brooder. This little one is lying in a pool of wet yucky stuff. Should I try to clean it up? put him on a paper towel? Leave him alone? For those of you that have done this before….. what's the prognosis in this situation? He's just lying there in the wet, not moving.

My recommendation would have been to put the little guy in a small dish/cup and put it back in the bator to do it's thing and remove the one that is up and running to the brooder. It's 50/50. I have heard plenty of happy ending stories with this situation and as many not happy. Good luck.
