What should I do?

So all of my babies got killed by dogs a couple of weeks ago. I want to start over.
I had a friend give me some eggs to incubate, but they are mostly covered in poop. Can I wash them. Most posts I've seen say don't, but they also warn against bacterias.
I need to get them started if I'm going to do so. Today is day 3 since they were collected from the nests.
What should I do?

You CAN NOT wash them. If you wash them it removes the protective bloom that protects the eggs from bacteria. Try to get as much chicken poop of the eggs with a dry paper towel.

Incubating poopy eggs would not be a good start.

Better get some clean and proper hatching eggs and the odds of hatching healthy chicks will be much higher.

I wash my eggs when needed in a 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide and warm water with a cotton ball.
Yes, I've done an experiment. Yes, the washed eggs hatched just as good as the unwashed eggs.
20 eggs in the incubator. 10 washed/ 10 unwashed. 2 infertile 1 of each of the washed and unwashed so 9 washed/ 9 unwashed and all of those 18 hatched.
Do it and see for yourself.

They are still in incubator. Have not candled any, so just waiting. Next Saturday is hatch day

I would recommend you candle all of them as there might just be some that could explode further on.

I don't have a candler and have not ever had any luck with makeshift.
Any suggestions?

Take a torch that will not heat up, and just hold it to the eggs. Best done in a darker surrounding.
