What should I do?

One of my Brahmas has a quarter size bloody spot on her back from another one of the chicks pecking at her. What do I put on it? Why would they peck now? I though the pecking order should have been established by now, they are almost 1 month old.

There is a product called Blue Kote... I haven't had to used it yet, but I have some on hand just in case. I guess chickens are hard-wired to peck at red stuff. Blue Kote is blue and it tastes bad so it protects the injured bird.

also keep her separated from the others until she heals they will peck her to death if they see blood

Definitely separate it from the rest of the flock! As to why they may have started pecking now... do they have enough space??? 6 wk old chicks need 2x as much space as day old chicks.
