My chicks are 15 weeks and I'm excited about my first eggs! Is there anything I should be feeding them, or watching for? I currently have their nesting boxes blocked off.

What breed(s) do you have - that will have something to do with how much longer of a wait you might be expecting. What are you currently feeding them? Are there any roosters in your flock?

At 16 weeks you could start switching over to a layer feed. I would also open up the nest boxes and put some fake eggs or golf balls in there, to get them curious/interested in the boxes. It really all depends on what breeds you have to determine when you will get eggs. Some will at 16 weeks but others can take up to 6 months.

I would personally keep them on the grower feed and offer oyster shell free choice, till I ran out of grower or they were all laying, which ever came first.

I have 4 Golden Comments and 2 Tetra Tints - no roosters!
