A couple months ago we decided to start a new flock and got 6 pullet chicks from TSC....and like so many other stories I've heard...of course one turned out to be a roo. Right now they are about 9 weeks old. And so far the roo (a white leghorn) is not aggressive with the kids or anyone really, he's pretty bossy with the ladies but not mean. The two ducks that live with them keep him in line. He just started crowing, very loudly, but even that isn't horrific or excessive. Like I said he is only about 9 weeks old, he is decently behaved now does that change when they get older? Is there potential for him to suddenly act up and become aggressive in general or will he always be fairly mellow like he is now? He is the only male among five females.
We've had roos before, but we got them all as adults and none were white leghorns. Some of them mellow, some very mean so I know it can go either way.
