Ok, I am new at raising chickens. My chicken are free range with corn, broken rice and meal feed with all the vitamins. They like my kitchen scraps and I enjoy giving it to them. But I had read on another site that I should not feed them potato peels even chopped up small. They said that they were unable to digest them. Is this true? Is there anything I shouldn't feed them from my own kitchen. Oh, and they hate web worms I found on my cherry tree, but they knew not to eat them for some reason.Thanks::

I feed all my kitchen scraps .. When I clean out the fridge as long as it aint growing its own universe in the container they get it ..

My chickens won't eat raw potato peels. Go figure. They LOVE cooked potato, though. The only other thing I've discovered they won't eat from the kitchen is raw green bell pepper.

I have read that you shouldn't feed them uncooked dried beans - something to do with a toxin. They love leftover baked beans, though!

raw potato skins are toxic.... mine love top ramen noodles! and as a treat to them, canned dog food.... like getting them back in the run fast..

Don't feed raw potatoes (cooked are fine) or the potato plants.

Mine go nutso over macaroni and cheese. They also love leftover peanuts (kids grrrr) and the ends of the bread. And of course any fruit is a big hit: strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, honeydew, etc.
